IMPORTANT NOTE: However you plan to get here, please make sure we know that you are coming. You should have received email confirmation of any registration for a workshop or tour that comes through, or confirmed a private appointment via email or phone. The dirt road dead ends on private property so we want to make sure we are there to meet you at a designated spot! Because you may not have a phone signal outside of the larger towns it is critical for both you and us to plan ahead for your arrival. Thanks!

 

By car: The address is easily found using google maps; however, please be advised that between Hwy 11 and Cob Hill there are several miles of one-lane, partially dirt roads that can be rutty after heavy rains. Please drive slowly and watch for animals. When you turn off Hwy 11 onto County Road 2993, be aware that it will fork, and you will need to stay to the right of that fork.  It is confusing because the pavement ends going right so you naturally want to go left and follow the pavement, but do NOT do that or you will be on County Road 2914 instead of proceeding to 2913 as you must. The last turn onto County Road 2913 is easy to miss until you pass it, because it turns so sharply to the right it feels like you are making a U-turn. When you reach the end of road 2913, our entrance will be on the right - just follow the signs, but brace yourself because County Road 2913 is nicknamed roller coaster road!  If you are pulling an RV, I would suggest putting it in low gear going up the hills, or gaining some speed coming down to help you going up. Please drive carefully! If you feel you may be lost, go to the top of the hill for a cell signal to call Cat and someone will lead you in.

By bus via the Greyhound in Mount Pleasant (32mi. away, add $32 each way transport fee)

By train via the Texarkana Amtrak (53mi. away, add $53 each way transport fee)

By air via Dallas Love Field (DAL) then a taxi to the greyhound bus station to ride to Mount Pleasant, TX for pickup there (32mi. away, add $32 each way transport fee). You may also be able to pre-arranged a carpool from DAL (157 miles away—$78.50 payable to driver each way divided among passengers) if we have staff coming from that direction. Please inquire 30 days in advance to see if that is an option. If you must fly, pre-arranging all of your connections with as much lead time as possible will help ensure a smooth arrival and departure.

Please be advised that transportation from the bus station, train station or rental car drop-off must be arranged no less than 14 days in advance at a rate that covers gas prices for round trip. Please contact us to discuss.

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate early arrivals or late departures; however, Daingerfield State Park and several bed&breakfast options are available within 15 miles of Cob Hill, and we offer free pickup service within that radius that you can pre-arrange with us via email.
